I love Jay's take on the whole muscle car scene, and his approach to these old muscle cars vs anything new. Absolutely a cool guy, who doesn't get credit ( I believe ) for being as much of a thorough encyclopedia of automobiles as he is of a collector.

As to why he does burnouts, he says with a grin, "For the kids!"

The engine was a turbo charged 1.0 liter, it came with air, a cd player, and a retractable roof. 32 mpg. It was only going to be a run of 8000 units, but the demand was so great they made 20000, and sold them by lottery.

Perhaps it was an attempt at countering the popular Mazda Miata, that started production in 1989 with 45 thousand made, and 95k in 1990. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Miata

Albo, a senior partner in the Albo & Oblon, LLP traffic law firm, can expect to see a significant increase in business as motorists seek to protect their wallet from traffic tickets that come with assessments of up to $3000 in addition to an annual point tax that tops out at $700 a year for as long as the points remain.

Driving as little as 15 MPH over the limit on an interstate highway now brings six license demerit points, a fine of up to $2500, up to one year in jail, and a new mandatory $1050 tax. The law also imposes an additional annual fee of up to $100 if a prior conviction leaves the motorist with a balance of eight demerit points, plus $75 for each additional point (up to $700 a year). The conviction in this example remains on the record for five years.
