NHTSA is now investigating almost 150 000 CR-Vs over drivers door smoke and fire. The probe covers 149 583 2006 Honda CR-Vs and are focusing on the melting/burning of the master power window switch and other electrical system components. Earlier last year, the NHTSA opened an initial investigation based on three reports. Honda has received a couple dozen other complaints and have held a meeting with NHTSA officials to discuss the investigations. Honda is continuing to analyze the situation.
