This 1907 San Francisco cable car was sold in the 50's to Knotts Berry Farm, where it gave rides for 30 years, then bought by San Diego who intended it to be used in the gaslamp. It was soon forgotten by San Diego's planners, and became termite food for the 20 years it was forgotten in the MTDB municiple yard. Now it's going to get the attention and restoration it deserves. http://www.powaymidlandrr.org/images/cablecar1.htm for a vintage photo of it. http://www.powaymidlandrr.org/equipmen.htm#cablecar for the historical write up.
Poway is the home of this train restoration and working display, only just learned of it minutes before arriving there and seeing it for myself. http://www.powaymidlandrr.org/default.htm
