FROM TORONTO - Honda Canada Inc. is recalling several hundred 2010 Acura ZDX vehicles to inspect for possible problems with passenger-side airbags. No incidents have been reported. But Honda says a quality check has disclosed that some of the vehicles do not have the necessary laser-cut scoring on the underside of the dashboard surface material. Without proper scoring, the passenger-side frontal airbag will not deploy properly.
Owners of 605 vehicles in Canada will be informed by mail later this month of the recall and asked to have their vehicles inspected.
Honda says any dashboards found to be without the proper scoring will be replaced.
FROM WASHINGTON - Honda is recalling 1850 Acura ZDX crossovers due to a potential issue that could lead to improper deployment of the front passenger-side airbag. The issue was discovered during manufacturing quality checks and found that some ZDXs did not have necessary laser-cut scoring on the dashboard’s underside. The scoring is needed to ensure clean airbag deployment and only a proper inspection can determine whether the dashboard will need to be replaced. ZDX owners will be notified by mail later this month.

For now, owners may visit owners.acura.com/recalls or call Acura Client Services at 800-382-2238 for more information.
