Combined February sales of 7,809 units by the Honda and Acura divisions represented a 12% decrease over last year's sales.  The Honda Automobile Division reported February sales of 6,902 units, down 14% from last year.  The Acura Division reported February sales of 907 units, up 6% over last year.

"We are pleased to see that the Honda CR-V, now in its fifth year of this current generation, continues to appeal to Canadian compact sport-utility vehicle buyers with record monthly sales and an increase of 11 per cent over the previous best-ever February sales results last year," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc.  "Also, our new Odyssey minivan continues to show strong sales momentum with a year-over-year increase of 62 per cent in February.

"The reduction of Honda sales for the month mainly reflected the fact that Canadians are awaiting the arrival of the all-new Canadian-built 2012 Civic coming in late April," added Mr. Chenkin.  "We expect to see a strong sales surge as we enter the spring and summer selling seasons."
