Elvis was driving an Ed Roth trike, and Ed made tops with his trikes, http://www.aeclassic.com/73rothtrike/ (to read about them). Well, back to the story... so you can bet that most of those tops never saw the road, and one was located in a backyard by Spider the pinstriper, and as you can see below, he pinstriped it, and brought it to a show and Gene is photographed sitting it it.

1972 Cadillac Station Wagon, 1 of 2 Made, 1 for Elvis, one for Dean Martin
0 comments Posted by st at 8:32 PMThanks to Jalopnik, I just learned that while the provenance needs verification, one of five custom 1969 Cadillac wagons used to transport VIPs at the Indianapolis 500 has turned up in Putnam NY via Ebay.
Reportedly, all five of the custom-built Indianapolis 500 cars were eventually sold by a Cadillac dealer in Dallas. Apparently it cost as much as a fully-loaded Corvette Stingray of the time ($6,500) just for the conversion.
