Despite its launch being put off from the March 11 disaster in Japan, Honda is set to take the wraps off of the Fit Shuttle come June 16th, almost 2 months after it was supposed to be released in late March. Some information has been leaked throughout the past months regarding the Fit Shuttle, it will be 51cm longer than the Fit to accommodate further room and a hybrid engine will also be available alongside a gasoline-electric engine. Think of this model as the replacement for the Honda Airwave. $1.61 million yen ($13 500) will be what you'll be asked when signing up for a Fit Shuttle gasoline model and $1.81 million ($15 800) will be the asking price for the basic hybrid version. It's official. Honda has released a webpage on its Japanese website with some brief information on its upcoming Fit Shuttle. These are allegedly brochure material of the 2011/2012 extended version of the Fit hatchback, called the Fit Shuttle. It is longer, heavier and the rear end has been modified slightly while retaining the interior flexibility. It will be offered in a Hybrid version with a 1.3 i-VTEC IMA system similar to the Fit Hybrid and a 1-5L gasoline variant to power the heavier Fit model. It should be introduced within the next few weeks in the Japanese market and sales will start in March/April. It is widely expected that this retain a Japanese-market only vehicle.

Should Honda bring this to North America? Perhaps a C-MAX competitor?
